Riverfest 2008
Endless Mountain Outfitters will be offering a Friday evening Wine and Cheese Kayak trip on the Susquehanna River for the 2008 Riverfest in Towanda. The meeting place will be the behind the Bradford County County House on Friday evening at 5:30 P.M. The trip will be from Towanda to the Wysox access at Rte. 187. The cost is $35 per kayak rental, which includes PFD (life vest), paddle, and shuttle and instruction. There will be a limited amount of kayaks available by pre-registration by calling 570-746-9140. There is a Riverfest donation to bring your own boat. (BYOB).
David Buck will be at Riverfest on Saturday with the PFBC North Branch maps and information about the Susquehanna Greenway and the North Branch Water Trail. Guided island exploring paddling trips will be at 2:00 and 4:00 P.M. We will paddle around the islands. Buck, Endless Mountains Heritage Region's Coordinator for the Susquehanna Greenway will be guiding the hour and half trip. David expects to see plenty of wildlife along the river. He will also give an update on the Susquehanna Greenway and will have the newly published Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's map of the North Branch of the River.
Kayaks are available to rent for Saturday's trip from Hornbrook Park to Wysox. Stop at Riverfest. 8-mile trip. Meeting at Wysox Township Park at 9 AM. CALL EMO, if you are interested. Bring your own kayaks, shuttle is not availabe, make a donation to Riverfest.
It will be a good way to cool off and enjoy the beauty of the river.
